About the coaches
COACH WALLER . WHS HEAD FOOTBALL
COACH
Reid is a graduate from Jacksonville
High School and Stephen F. Austin State
University. He is in his 26th year of
coaching and has previously worked at
Plano Senior High, Henderson High, and
Trinity Valley Community College. His
wife, Sarah, is a Kindergarten teacher
at Curtis Elementary. They have two
children, Sally (21) and Abby (13)
COACH
WEAVER . RECEIVERS
Wes is entering his 3rd year teaching
History and coaching at WHS and this is
his 7th year in the profession. He spent
four years in Bridgeport ISD prior to
coming to Weatherford. His wife, Amber,
teaches in EMSISD. They have been
married for 3 years and have one
daughter, Hartleigh (1). Coach Weaver
received a degree in English with a
Minor in History from the University of
Texas at Arlington in 2002. coach Weaver
enjoys being with his family and reading
in his spare time.
COACH ELMORE . WIDE RECEIVERS
Coach Elmore is entering his 2nd year in
coaching. Ross is a graduate of Athens
High School, Lon Morris College, and
Texas Wesleyan University.
COACH CHRISTENSON . SLOTBACKS
Blake graduated from Aledo High School
in 2001. He attended college at
Henderson State University where he
played QB under Coach Wheaton. He
graduated in December 2005 with a BSE in
Physical Education and a Minor in
Mathematics and he also has a Masters in
Sports Administration. This is his
second year teaching. Blake is married
to Lauren who teaches reading at the 9th
Grade Center.
COACH COFFMAN . INSIDE LINEBACKERS
Clint graduated from Clovis High School
in Clovis, NM. He played football at New
Mexico Highlands University. After
graduating, Clint returned to Clovis to
teach and coach for two years. He then
made the decision to move to Texas where
he is now entering his 7th year of
teaching World Geography at the 9th
Grade Center and coaching varsity
football. Clint is married to Ailee.
COACH GIBSON . CENTERS, GUARDS, KICKERS
Greg is from Richardson, Texas and
graduated from Berkner High School. He
played football at Stephen F. Austin and
graduated from Ouachita Baptist
University where he played for Coach
Wheaton. While completing his Masters in
Educational Leadership, He was a
football graduate assistant coach at
Arkansas State University. He worked two
years for Corpus Christi ISD. Greg has
been married for three years to Jana who
is teaching at the 9th Grade Center.
They have one son, Braeden .
COACH HANSEN . CORNERS
John is originally from Arlington, Texas
and graduated from Lamar High School. He
lettered in football and baseball and
went on to play baseball at Hill
College. Coach Hansen received his
Bachelors Degree in Economics in 2002
from UTA, followed by his Masters, also
in Economics in 2005. He teaches AP
Economics at WHS and this is his 3rd
year in coaching.
COACH HASS . DEFENSIVE TACKLES
Raymond is in his 5th year at WHS and
his 10th year as a teacher/coach. He is
originally from east Texas where he
spent the first part of his coaching
career. Coach Hass graduated from East
Texas State University. There he met
Tracey, his wife of 6 years. His hobbies
include crossword puzzles, golf, and
other recreational activities. Since
moving to Weatherford, Raymond and
Tracey have worshipped and served at
North Side Baptist Church here in town.
COACH LASTER . OUTSIDE LINEBACKERS
Kent graduated from Lake Highlands High
School where he played for Coach
Wheaton. He graduated from Texas State
University where he was a three year
starter at Cornerback. Coach Laster has
spent the previous 9 years in the
college ranks. He has coached at Texas
State University, Samforn University,
Middle, Tennessee State University,
University of Tennessee Martin, and
Ouachita Baptist University. Kent is in
his second year of teaching history at
Weatherford High School.
COACH THARP . DEFENSIVE ENDS
Jamie graduated from Marion High School
in Marion, Iowa and received a B.A. in
Biology Education from the University of
Northern Iowa in 1997. He moved to Texas
in the summer of 1997 and coached and
taught in Grapevine-Colleyville for two
years. This is his 9th year at
Weatherford, where he teaches Chemistry
and coaches at WHS. His wife, Staci,
teaches English at Weatherford High
School and they have two daughters, Abby
(9) and Sadie (6).
COACH WILSON . OFFENSIVE TACKLES
Coach Wilson is entering his 30th year
in education and 27th year in coaching.
Joey is a graduate of Jasper High
School, Lamar University and McNeese
State University. His wife Lynn is an
R.N. They have three girls—Jolyn (21),
Laura (18), and Kathryn (16)
COACH GLENN . ATHLETIC TRAINER
Jimmy has been an Athletic trainer for
sixteen years. In addition to his tenure
at Weatherford ISD, he has worked for
Cleburne ISD and Pflugerville ISD. He is
a Weatherford Fighting ROO Alumnus and a
graduate of the University of Texas at
Austin. His wife Becky is a teacher at
Ikard Elementary School and they have
two children, Maggie and Major.
